Our Story: A Curated Approach
to Communications

In literature and music, an anthology represents a curated collection of the finest works, assembled to showcase a specific body of work or tell a powerful story. Our origin story, right down to our name, centers on this very principle: bringing together the best research, content, and strategies to help our clients move their audiences to act.

At Anthology Communications, we connect organizations with a tailored collection of communications tools designed to meet their specific goals. We achieve this by integrating research, public relations, marketing, digital strategy, and creative services into cohesive, impactful campaigns.

From Insight to Impact

Anthology was founded in 2008 by our president, Denise Kennedy, not on a fleeting idea, but on a proven best practice. We set out to demonstrate that effective communication requires a collaborative, research-based, and goal-oriented approach. By unifying messages, marketing, public relations, and branding, organizations are better positioned to meet people where they are, cut through the noise, and deliver successful campaigns.

This foundational approach has enabled Anthology to deliver high-quality, measurable communications for a diverse range of clients across government, nonprofits, educational institutions, and for-profit companies. Our work is built on the belief that a strategic, integrated program is always more effective than isolated tactics.

The Anthology Communications Journey: A Timeline of Impact

Our history is defined by strategic growth and a steadfast commitment to our clients. This timeline highlights key milestones that have shaped our expertise and expanded our impact across vital sectors.

2008
A New Approach to Communications

Anthology Communications is founded on the principle that integrated communication strategies yield superior results. The firm is established to break down silos between public relations, marketing, and digital efforts, initially focusing on the public sector.

2009
Building a Foundation in Defense Community Support

We began our longstanding partnership with the Department of Defense Office of Local Community Defense Cooperation, then known as the Office of Economic Adjustment. This marked our official entry into supporting critical government programs.

2010
Expanding into Veteran Health

Anthology secured its first contract with the Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Health Information, now the Office of Connected Care. This project enabled us to apply our integrated approach in support of the health and well-being of our nation’s veterans.

2014
Championing the Future of Manufacturing

In a key collaboration with the Manufacturing Institute, Project Lead the Way, and SkillsUSA, we developed and promoted manufacturing badges, supporting career pathways and workforce development in this essential industry.

Connecting Veterans to Essential Benefits

Our team launched a national advertising campaign designed to connect Veterans with their earned benefits, demonstrating our capability to execute large-scale, impactful outreach initiatives.

2015
Transforming Workforce Pathways Through Education

In partnership with Jobs for the Future, Anthology developed and executed comprehensive communications plans and campaigns for the “Accelerating Opportunity” (AO) national initiative. AO played a pivotal role in improving adult basic education and expanding workforce pathways, particularly through the introduction of dual enrollment programs that enabled high school students to earn both high school and college credit.

2020
Supporting Defense Manufacturing Communities

We wrote, designed, and delivered a comprehensive suite of communications tools for the Department of Defense Defense Manufacturing Community Support Program (DMCSP), reinforcing our commitment to strengthening the U.S. industrial base.

2023
Advancing Manufacturing, Education, and Workforce Development

Our work with the Department of Defense expanded as we began a new partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Program’s Education and Workforce Development division, focusing on building a skilled talent pipeline for the future.
